Auburn transfer WR Eric Singleton signs with Florida
Auburn transfer wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. has signed with Florida, according to On3's Pete Nakos. Singleton began his college career at Georgia Tech, but after one season at Auburn, he entered the transfer portal. During his time at Auburn, he caught 58 passes for 534 yards and three touchdowns, ranking second on the team in receiving behind Cam Coleman.
Prior to Auburn, Singleton had a strong two-season run at Georgia Tech. As a sophomore in 2024, he caught 56 passes for 754 yards and three touchdowns, solidifying his status as a top target for quarterback Haynes King.
Singleton's move to Florida is a significant addition to the team, especially with the presence of new head coach Jon Sumrall, who is building out the wide receiver room. The Gators already have Vernell Brown Jr. and Dallas Wilson returning from last season, both of whom had strong freshman years. Brown led the team with 512 yards, while Wilson contributed 174 yards and three touchdowns in just four games due to injury.
Singleton also brings a connection with new Florida quarterback Aaron Philo, as they both played for Georgia Tech in 2024. Additionally, Singleton and Philo are familiar with the system run by new offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, who was the OC at Georgia Tech from 2023-2025. During that time, the Yellow Jackets had one of the ACC's top offenses, ranking second in the conference with 460 total yards per game, including 197.5 rush yards per game.
With Singleton's arrival, Florida is now the highest-rated transfer commitment for Sumrall and the Gators ahead of the 2026 season. The team aims to improve from a 4-8 record last year, which led to the departure of Billy Napier mid-season.
